Dear All Saints’ Family,

Last Sunday, Aug. 20, was a big day for me as I officially became a member of All Saints.’ My husband, Tim, and I have been attending since January and immediately felt warmly welcomed.  As I got to know the church I became more and more involved: attending Father Reid’s Monday-night “From the Rector’s Perspective” class, participating in the Spring Parish Academy session, joining the Book Club, attending a Ladies’ Night outing to Orlando to hear Beth Moore’s inspiring message to more than 5,000 people, and more.  A special highlight for me was attending the installation service for Father Reid.

As a former newspaper writer and editor I also like to write, and once Father Reid discovered this he asked if I would consider working with Communications Director Donovan Dolde to write regular articles for the All Saints’ web site. I enthusiastically said YES.

I have already written two articles - one on the Parish Academy and one on the All Saints’ Book Club - and am working on several more to be posted in the months to come. I hope to not only capture special events at the church, but also to introduce our church staff, profile various ministries of the church and even share some inspiration from various members of the congregation. I believe everyone has a story to tell!

I wanted to take this time to introduce myself to you so that if you get a call from me, or see me approaching with a notebook and pen in hand, you’ll know what my mission is!  I am privileged and blessed to be here and to be provided the opportunity to get to know my church family and the work we do in a more meaningful way.

Thank you!

Diane Hurles
