The Fullness of God

Ephesians Chapter 3:14-21

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith - that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

This past week and weekend has left me feeling "filled wih all the fullness of God" (Ephesians 3:19 ). I led two different women's Bible studies, preached at the OSL Healing Service on Wednesday, led Wednesday evening musical activities with the children and teens, attended an Anglican studies class on the BCP led by Bishop Brewer and Canon Holcomb, attended a youth overnight outing on prayer at Camp Wingmann with 18 of our teens and 4 other adults, Bishop Brewer, and 60+ others from our Diocese, experienced answered prayers, led Children's Church, taught Sunday School with our middle schoolers, played my French horn for the 10:50 a.m. service, ministered to a few friends in need, and participated in the Celebration Service for Fr. Reid's new ministry as Rector. I have been awake for several hours when I should have been resting, but my spirit has been full and enlivened by these past few days.

I anticipate that this coming week will build upon the last and I do hope and pray for continued momentum. Bishop Brewer gave us much food for thought in our conversations about prayer at Camp Wingmann and his homily on Sunday built upon my experiences with him from Friday and Saturday. The take-away I have is to "think bigger" as I/we pray and to ask God for a "breakthrough" in our midst. I continue to sense new work that God is doing among us and I hold fast to Ephesians 3:20-21 (above) as I commit myself to Jesus Christ being first in my life.

Praise be to God for all that He is and will be doing within us, among us, and through us!
