It’s that time of year again, bellringing for the Salvation Army!
This is the 18th year that All Saints’ Church has aided the Salvation Army in their yearly campaign to raise funds so that the Army can give aid to the needy all year. Besides the gifts of food and presents for children at Christmas time, the Army uses the monies collected to help relieve the plight of people who are truly in need by providing them with shelter, clothes, and monetary assistance throughout the year. In the last few years, the Army built the George Jenkins Community of Hope, which houses families who are homeless and gives them a breathing space so that they can find jobs and save money to rent or buy homes of their own. Of course, you know that the Army is at hand to help those who suffer natural disasters like hurricanes and tornadoes, but they also visit prisons and nursing homes to bring hope to those who seem to have no hope.
Did you know that the Salvation Army is at the top of US charities that spends its donations the most efficiently?
