It’s that time of year again, bellringing for the Salvation Army! This is the 19th year that All Saints has aided the Salvation Army in their yearly campaign to raise funds so that the Army can give aid to the needy all year.
Besides the gifts of food and presents for children at Christmas time, the Army uses the monies collected to help relieve the plight of people who are truly in need by providing them with shelter, clothes, and monetary assistance throughout the year. In the last few years, the Army built the George Jenkins Community of Hope, which houses families who are homeless and gives them a breathing space so that they can find jobs and save money to rent or buy homes of their own. Of course, you know that the Army is at hand to help those who suffer natural disasters like hurricanes and tornadoes, but they also visit prisons and nursing homes to bring hope to those who seem to have no hope.
Sign-up starts December 2nd. Martha Linder is signing people up for the Salvation Army kettle bell at Publix’s Southgate Plaza. The times to ring will be: December 2nd - December 24th.
The earlier you contact Martha at 863-687-3333 or 863-581-1729, more choices are available. She can be contacted in person or by phone.
