Lessons and Carols

Date: Sunday, December 08, 2019 04:00 PM

This beautiful Advent Service comes to us from King’s College, England. It was first performed in 1918 to provide inspiration in Anglican services and includes nine lessons and corresponding carols which can vary with individual presentations.

Lessons and Carols offer a bridge between the penitential Season of Advent and the celebration of Christmas. The nine lessons come from the Old and New Testament extolling God’s love for us.

Each carol expresses the joy and hope of Christmas. Together they let us put aside the secular world that nearly smothers the true meaning of the Season.

Join us December 8, 4:00 p.m. for Lessons and Carols followed by an English Tea in Woodsby Hall. Prepare for the coming of Christ in a beautiful inspiring service by our choir and Director Chuck Fulton.
