2024 Vestry

2024 Vestry

The vestry is the legal representative of the parish about all matters about its corporate property. The number of vestry members and the term of office varies from parish to parish. The presiding officer of the vestry is the rector. The vestry has two wardens. The senior warden leads the parish between rectors and is a support person for the rector. The junior warden often has responsibility for church property and buildings. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the congregation's mission, to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances.

Whether at home, work, or on the go, we hope you feel connected to our church family as we come together to worship and learn more about God. We believe that even though we're not physically in the same place, the power of the Holy Spirit can bring us together in a meaningful and impactful way. So let's open our hearts and minds to what the Lord has in store for us today. May you be blessed and encouraged as we worship and learn together.

Of course, COVID changed everything! For us, the change was good because we quickly adapted and learned to commonly use words such as livestreaming, Zoom, podcasting, vlogging, and especially mute.

Now years later, our church has evolved into a multi-faceted Christian video and audio production house. We offer highly produced video programs such as Bible Study with Father Reid, The Daily Office Lectionary, Worldviews, and C. S. Lewis's Ransom Trilogy. We also host regular podcasts on the Power of Prayer, The Lectionary, and Parish Academy. We livestream our Sunday Services and host as many as three live Zoom classes on Wednesday as well as Sunday School.

Groups of four or more are encouraged to schedule a tour of our historic church and see our beautiful Skinner-Colby Organ.

Tours are scheduled based on the availability of our volunteer tour guides and typically last between 30 to 45 minutes. Tours scheduled in the early afternoon on Saturday can take in our 4 p.m. Holy Eucharist Service. Alternately, tours scheduled late morning or early afternoon on Wednesday can take in our 12:10 p.m. Healing Prayer Service.

Make a day of it by planning lunch or brunch at one of the terrific restaurants in downtown Lakeland!
